How it works
The PetSafe Basic In-Ground Fence transmitter connects to a loop of boundary wire around the chosen area. The receiver collar responds near the wire. Boundary planning, installation and training are part of setup.
Coverage and components
PetSafe’s manual estimates that a square loop enclosing about 1,300 m² (0.13 ha) uses around 146 m of wire. The boundary shape and length of twisted wire affect how much wire you need. Expansion requires extra wire and flags. The maker lists the transmitter, battery-operated receiver collar, boundary wire and training flags in the kit. Confirm the exact local carton and installation manual before purchase.
Choosing a replacement
Use the Deluxe UltraLight Extra Receiver Collar PIG19-10764 to replace the kit’s receiver or add another dog. PetSafe also lists the Stubborn Dog Extra Receiver Collar PIG19-10763 as a compatible option with different response modes. For extra boundary wire and flags, choose the 150 m Wire and Flag Kit PRFA-500. For replacement batteries for the included Deluxe UltraLight receiver, choose the PetSafe RFA-67D-11 battery twin pack. Follow the PetSafe guide for the layout and training steps.
Plan and install the boundary
Plan a continuous wire loop from the transmitter around the area you want to contain and back to the transmitter. Lay out and test the wire before burying it. Follow the PetSafe PIG19-16412 manual for the layout, installation and training steps.
