How the SportTrainer 825X controls work
Use the transmitter dial and buttons to select and send a cue. The operating mode determines how the buttons deliver tone, vibration and static stimulation. Some modes offer up to 21 static settings across the available ranges. Check the mode chart before using a different button setup.
The 700 m figure is SportDOG’s rated maximum. The manual explains how terrain, vegetation and the way you hold the transmitter affect usable distance. This is a manually operated trainer.
Exact Add-A-Dog receiver fit
SportDOG’s X-Series guide lists the SDR-AXF-E Add-A-Dog receiver for the SD-825X-E. The system includes one receiver and supports up to three dogs with additional compatible receivers. Before ordering a spare, read the transmitter and receiver model labels.
Charging and fitting the collar
The SD-825X-E receiver uses the charging jack under its rubber cover. The transmitter has a separate charging connection. Use the equipment supplied for this model, refit the cover after charging and follow the guide for the receiver’s placement and contact-point fit. Read the SportDOG X-Series operating guide.

Compare the two SportTrainer systems
The SportTrainer 1825X is rated up to 1,600 m and supports up to six dogs in the appropriate configuration. It uses a different receiver charging cradle. Compare those features and exact model codes before choosing a system. See SportDOG’s 825X product specifications.
